- Are my deposit accounts FDIC insured?
- Yes, deposit accounts are insured by the FDIC* up to $100,000 per account ownership category. For more information may call or visit any of our Branch Locations and speak with a personal banker who will be happy to answer any questions regarding FDIC.
* FDIC does not apply to safe deposit boxes.
- How do I open a Madison National Bank checking account?
- Visit one of our branch locations and see any of our personal bankers. All you need is two forms of ID and we will be able to open an account for you.
- Are there any minimum balance requirements for personal checking accounts?
- Please refer to the Schedule of Service Fees for balance requirements.
- Are there any minimum balance requirements for personal Money Market accounts?
- Please refer to the Schedule of Service Fees for balance requirements.
- How do I arrange to have a specific dollar amount automatically deposited into my account?
- Visit any of our Branch Locations to complete the necessary direct deposit paperwork.
- Is there a limitation on the number of checks that I can write each month?
- With our Checking accounts there is no limit on the number of checks you can write. Our Money Market accounts limit you to only 3 checks per month (Per Federal Regulation D). Fees may apply where Federal Regulation D limits are exceeded, please check our Schedule of Service Fees.
- What is the minimum balance required to open a Madison National Bank savings account?
- Most of our saving accounts only require $1 to open except for the Madison Optimal Savings and Madison Super Saver that require $1,000 and $200, respectively. Please visit our Savings Product page for additional information.
- If I have questions about a Business account, who do I contact?
- You may call or visit any of our Branch Locations and speak with a personal banker who will be happy to answer any questions that you may have regarding your account.
- What is a certificate of deposit (CD) and why should I invest in one?
- Certificate of Deposit accounts typically offer a higher rate of interest than liquid savings or money market accounts and provide a guaranteed rate for a specific term. Anyone who wants higher rates with a guaranteed return and does not need to access their money on a regular basis should consider opening a CD.
- Is there a minimum balance required to open a Certificate of Deposit account?
- For our Super Certificate of Deposits there is a $500 minimum balance to open. For our Jumbo Certificate of Deposits a $100,000 minimum balance is required.
- What are your Certificate of Deposit rates?
- Please view our current Certificate of Deposit rates on our Personal Banking Rates page.
- What if the rate goes up and my Certificate of Deposit has not yet matured?
- You are guaranteed the original rate that you received when you opened the account, regardless if the rates go higher or lower during your term.
- What is the minimum balance required to open a business checking account?
- The minimum balance for opening one of our business checking accounts is $1.
- What business documentation is required to open a business checking account?
- We require the corporate resolution, filing receipt and EIN number of the business, as well as two forms of identification for each officer.
- What happens if my ATM or Debit card is lost or stolen?
- It is important that you contact us as soon as you discover that your card is missing. Please call 1.800.554.8969 or contact your local branch.
- What are the daily limits on my ATM/Debit card?
- The daily limits for ATM withdrawals are $700.00 and $2,000.00 for Point of Sale transactions.
- Will Madison National Bank refund my ATM charges if I use a competitors ATM?
- For the first three months of a new checking account, all transaction fees incurred at any ATM using a Madison ATM/Debit card will be refunded into your account on the next business day. When the three month promotional period expires, the first 8 transaction fees incurred per statement cycle at any ATM will be refunded. After the first 8, the fees incurred at a non proprietary ATM will apply.
